* Software engineers at the University of Wales Aberystwyth have found a way to make the Windows 2000 system more accessible: by developing a version in Welsh.
Welsh-speaking academics and students logging on to any of the university's 750 computers are able to choose between having the desktop and 2000 packages in English or Welsh.
Julian Eastwood of the university's information services department said:
"It was as much a translation challenge as it was a technical one."
