The dedication of some university chancellors knows no bounds. Lord MacLaurin, England and Wales cricket board chairman and chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire, has blamed his university commitments for preventing his attendance at any of the three forthcoming test matches in Pakistan. His presence will be particularly missed because of the tough time facing English cricket following allegations that former England captain Alec Stewart had received money from a bookmaker.
