Steves who don't believe

If you are worried by the march of creationism across the US, you may be comforted to know that 500 scientists called Steve have come out in support of evolution. Project Steve was set up by the National Center for Science Education as a riposte to creationists publishing lists of their scientific supporters. The project, a tribute to Stephen Jay Gould, has enlisted 524 Steves (and Stephanies) with a PhD and no wacky beliefs.
