The first diploma in clinical hypnosis is to be offered by St Mary's University College. The course, launched together with the Brief Strategic Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis Foundation, aims to address growing concerns about the lack of regulation and recognised professional educational standards for hypnotherapists in the UK. The college said that the diploma, the first of its kind in the country, "marks a significant step in the recognition of hypnotherapy as a scientifically based therapeutic discipline".
