Speak up for Lancashire

Do you talk like Gracie Fields? Want to earn a quick £15 for half-an-hour's work? Then rush down to the Mechanics Theatre in Burnley, Lancashire, today where researchers from Birmingham University's division of electrical, electronic and computer engineering are recruiting people to help them develop better speech recognition systems. Existing software does not take into account local accents so researchers are collecting variations from all over the UK.
