Northumbria University's latest experts guide features research by Sarah Evans, a psychology lecturer, suggesting that women prefer men with deep voices. They consider them more masculine, sexy, confident and friendly.

The research is investigating whether voice may be an important but hitherto overlooked factor in the mating game.
