SMEs and the new instruments in FP6 priorities 1 and 5

January 21, 2003

Brussels, 20 Jan 2003

An information day aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) interested in participating in the Sixth Framework Programme's (FP6) priorities 1 and 5 will take place in Brussels on 7 February.

Some 15 per cent of the budget available for the thematic priorities of FP6 is set aside for SMEs. The event will inform SMEs about preparing proposals for integrated projects and networks of excellence under two of these thematic priorities: 'life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health' (priority 1) and 'food quality and safety' (priority 5).

The workshop has been organised by the 'partners for life' consortium, supported by the Fifth Framework Programme's innovation and SMEs programme, and EuropaBio, along with support from the European Commission.

Coordinators preparing proposals for integrated projects and networks of excellence to be submitted under the first call for proposals are invited to participate. Partner search services will also be provided.
