Student complaints have prompted a Macedonian university to pulp a new politics textbook written by three of its professors because it described Nato and the US as the "world's leading terrorists".

Trajan Gocevski, director of Sveti Kirilo I Metodije University, agreed to withdraw the textbook and will issue an expurgated version. But co-author Trajan Panev was unrepentant. "I can prove that Nato is an aggressor organisation and that the US is an example of a multinational terrorist," Professor Panev said.
