During the annual clearing scramble, universities seek to stand out from the crowd with innovative advertising. But few can top Goldsmith's, University of London for boldness. The college was this week marketing itself on the celebrity gossip website Popbitch.com alongside ads for phone sex with a "sexy young student girl" (75 pence for 30 seconds) and for "Liquid Gold" - the night club drug isobutyl nitrate. "Radical" indeed, as Goldsmiths describes itself in the advert.
