Brussels, 20 Apr 2005

The Commission's Enterprise and Industry DG has published a call for tenders for the development and testing of better services in support of innovation management.

The aim of this action is to better assist enterprises in their effort to innovate and promote a European-wide benchmarking and innovation culture. The contract will involve the undertaking of an in-depth assessment of existing tools and instruments that help companies to improve innovation management. It will involve testing different approaches, (taking into account different cultures and sectoral needs), and developing a prototype for a European self-assessment tool.

The call is aimed at innovation and management consultants and agencies with a very good knowledge of modern innovation management techniques, as well as of the practical instruments used to help enterprises. Furthermore, the contractor will be requested to carry out a large number of interviews, with a good country and sector balance, in order to test good methodologies with respect to their transferability.

The proposed activity will help to improve the methodology for services in support of innovation management, and will actively investigate and test new approaches in the area of innovation management. The foreseen total budget for the contract is five million euro.
