Second mobile communications seminar: health, environment and society

The European Commission, in cooperation with GSM Europe and the mobile manufacturers' forum (MMF), is organising the second mobile communications seminar on health, environment and society, to take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 23 and 24 September.

The seminar aims to contribute to Europe-wide and science based public policy and regulation on health and electromagnetic fields in order to ensure safety and improve public opinion. Best practices will be identified, and Ján Figel, Commissioner for Enterprise and Information Society, will deliver a keynote speech on the following themes:
- responding to public concern through regulations;
- public health priorities for future research;
- the future of wireless infrastructure;
- are we using the right tools to communicate to the public?
