Scotland has won a 5 per cent increase in cash awarded under the Science Research Investment Fund, amounting to £103 million, or 12.2 per cent of the available UK money. Edinburgh University has won the biggest total allocation from the Office of Science and Technology and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council with more than £29 million over two years. Glasgow University is next with almost £23 million, followed by Dundee University with £11.5 million.
