Scottish Further Education Funding Council

The chairman of the new Scottish Further Education Funding Council has promised that a review of college management will be "neither a whitewash nor a witch-hunt". A steering group will develop a robust framework to monitor Scottish colleges. The review will be carried out by one of four specialist groups established by the SFEFC, which will take over college funding from the Scottish Office in July.

The funding steering group is drafting plans to move from the financial year to the academic year for college grants, in line with the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council.
