Scottish academics were relieved by news that Blackwell UK is to buy the 12 academic branches of James Thin, the family-run bookseller that entered administration earlier this year.
Blackwell's chief executive, Philip Blackwell, said the opportunity to acquire prime sites in the Scottish academic community was "irresistible".
