Scots strive for regeneration

THE SCOTTISH Higher Education Funding Council has launched a Pounds 7.5 million scheme to boost Scotland's social and economic regeneration, as part of its response to Technology Foresight. The scheme will run until at least 2001, with institutions bidding for a share of a Pounds 5.3 million grant to set up units and laboratories which can be used by academics and industry. Several initial projects have won support into a second and third year.
