Scientists volunteer for talks in schools

A database listing university scientists who are willing to give talks to schoolchildren will be launched next week at the British Association's science festival.

Teachers will be able to punch in the postcode of the school and a list of local experts will appear. Some 300 scientists have already joined the scheme.
