May 28, 1999

* The processes and structures used by government to obtain scientific advice on the health impacts of mobile phones are to be investigated by the House of Commons Science and Technology committee.

The group, which last week produced a report on genetically modified foods and advice to government, will turn its attentions to mobile phones as part of its ongoing inquiry into the scientific advisory system.

Submissions should be sent by June 14 to the committee clerk at the House of Commons. For more information phone 0171-219 94.
