Female refugee academics will be offered mentoring and the chance to develop their skills via a new project at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Three or four female academic refugees will be helped each year under Soas's new Pathfinder project in association with CARA, the Council for the Assistance of Academic Refugees. The first three refugee academics joining Soas as part of the project come from Iraq and Sudan. They join Hana Mal Allah from the University of Baghdad, who has been a fellow in the faculty of languages and cultures since October.
