As Scotland's higher education institutions grit their teeth over this week's grant allocations, at least they cannot accuse the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council of being profligate with its own resources. SHEFC recently called in an external consultant, who, at lunchtime, was escorted down the road to Alison's Sandwich Shop and invited to choose her own.
