Subject: Draft Council Conclusions on the European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)

At its meeting of February, the Permanent Representatives Committee took note of the presentation by the Commission of its Communication concerning the progress report on the GALILEO research program as well as the report by the Commission on the results of the last negotiation round with the United States of America aiming at an agreement on compatibility and interoperability between the European GALILEO and the US GPS systems, which took place on 24/25 February 2004 in Brussels.

Against this background the Permanent Representatives Committee reached consensus on a set of draft Council conclusions as presented in the Annex. The Council is invited to adopt these conclusions.
