In preparation of the 161st meeting of the CSO the attached proposal by the COST Office will be examined by JAF at its meeting on 16/ 17 February 2005.

Comments, in particular from delegations not represented in the JAF Group, possibly in the form of suggested amendments, should be sent to the COST Secretariat (cost@consilium.eu.int) with copies to the President (francesco.fedi@tiscali.it) and the COST Office (amayer@cost.esf.org) by 14 February 2005 at the latest.

COST Budget 2005

The budget envisaged for 2005 remains substantially as set out in the document presented to the CSO in May 2004 (doc. COST 6/04). The revised allocation to Actions in the current year is given in Annex. Part of the funds planned for new Actions (1 M ) has been incorporated into this table given the new fast starts to Actions agreed in December 2004 and to be agreed in March 2005. It should be noted that the average allocation for the year per Action is 67.2K plus STSMs and
