A new National Educational Research Forum has been set up in response to high-level criticism that educational research is inaccessible, insufficiently practical and too small scale. The forum comes after a recommendation to the Department for Education from the Institute of Employment Studies last year. It will be chaired by Sir Michael Peckham of University College London.
