REPORT on the communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the state of progress of the Galileo programme
However, the report on the progress of the Galileo Programme has been overtaken by developments in the implementation of the programme. Accordingly, in order to ensure a more up-to-date approach to the topics dealt with, your rapporteur has sought to organise a hearing of the Committee on Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy in order to take stock of the situation. A number of high-level experts have agreed to take part in the discussions and have also contributed to this report. I should like to express my gratitude to them.
The aim of this report is to look to the future and reflect on the most recent developments, to enable the European Parliament to express its views on a matter of such great importance for the economy and the political future of the Union.
