Who said academics were not proud of the size of their endowments? In an unusually frank profile of Stuart Reid, Glasgow University's dean of veterinary medicine, in the university's newsletter, Dr Reid reveals he once narrowly avoided being formally cautioned in Paris for doing a handstand in a kilt on the Champs-Elysées. "It was a rugby tour and it was February; the gendarme dropped the case due to lack of evidence."
