RAE is a great boon to equal opps

Removing the RAE will not by itself increase the numbers of women in senior posts. University cultures with their institutional sexism and racism have to change first. Women in academia are burnt out, not only from their hard work in teaching and research, but also in their struggle against the persistent under-rating and denigration of their work.
