A competition run by the World Intellectual Property Organisation for university students has attracted competition itself. Students were asked to write an essay addressing the question "What does intellectual property mean to you in your daily life?" for a prize worth just over £400. But WIPOUT , a rival international organisation, has launched its own competition, addressing the same question and offering £1,500 in prize money. "We expect the counter-contest essays to be rather more critical than those that WIPO is soliciting," say the organisers.
