Publicity drive takes wrong turn

Universities are normally not shy about the coverage they get in the press. But last Friday's university-wide email alert about media mentions of the University of Central Lancaster contained not a word on articles about the vice-chancellor's quest for a new chauffeur. The tale of Malcolm McVicar's search made it into the Lancaster Evening Post and The Sun , but it did not merit a line in Uclan's thrice-weekly newsletter.
