Private success

Private schools are still remarkably successful at getting their students into universities, according to a survey by the Independent Schools Council.

The survey, the largest of its kind, found that almost two thirds of private-school applications to "top" universities resulted in an offer of a place. Overall, 98 per cent of ISC pupils received at least one university offer.
