Principals push for the higher cause locally

* Scottish principals this week launched a strong bid to persuade MSPs of higher education's importance in local economic development.

The Scottish Parliament's powerful enterprise and lifelong learning committee is holding an inquiry into local economic development, which includes vocational education and training, excluding higher education.
