Pets and degrees are clearly a dangerous combination. After the Heriot-Watt graduation certificate, which had to be replaced when the graduate's Labrador puppy buried it in the garden, a Reading University graduate, also seeking a replacement, thoughtfully sent back the original to prove that the cat had peed on it.
