Welcome to William Dutton, professor at the University of Southern California, who will become the first director of the Oxford Internet Institute in July and the University of Oxford's first professor of internet studies.

Meanwhile Steve Molyneux, director of the learning lab at Wolverhampton University, was at the Pentagon this week to sign a joint agreement aimed at making the learning lab a partner laboratory of the Pentagon's advanced distributed learning initiative - the first such partner outside the United States.
