Overlap concern

Raymond Robertson, Scottish Office minister for education, has launched a research project to compare the costs of education for 16 to 19-year-olds in secondary schools and further education colleges. The Pounds 45,000 contract has been won by KPMG Management Consulting. Mr Robertson said that the closer integration of academic and vocational education through the Government's Higher Still initiative meant there was a need to look at the increasing overlap of provision in the two sectors.
