OST renamed in rejig

The Office of Science and Technology, which oversees the research councils, is set to become the Office of Science and Innovation on April 3 as part of a reorganisation of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Sir David King, the Government's Chief Scientific Advisor, will head the new office. Sir Keith O'Nions will become director-general in charge of the research councils and the DTI's Innovation Group. Sir Keith also becomes the DTI's Chief Scientific Adviser.
