On the move...

The Courtauld Institute of Art has appointed Caroline Campbell curator of paintings at the institute’s art gallery in Somerset House. She was assistant curator of Renaissance paintings at the National Gallery in London.

Sue Roulstone , clinical research director of the Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit at Frenchay Hospital, has been appointed professor of speech and language therapy in the faculty of health and social care at the University of the West of England. She is chair of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Warwick University has appointed: Bob Wilson , formerly director of estates at Glasgow University, director of estates; and Jane Hutton , professor in the department of statistics, has been appointed to the Medical Research Council Health Services and Public Health Research College of Experts.

Norwich School of Art and Design has appointed Angela Robson director of finance, estates and human resources. She was most recently director of finance at Marlborough Stirling Life & Pensions Ltd.

Bristol University has appointed: David Berridge , former research director at the National Children’s Bureau and more recently director of the Institute of Applied Social Research at Luton University, professor of child welfare; and John Carpenter , formerly at Durham University, has been appointed to the chair of social work in the School for Policy Studies.

Chris Leaver , head of plant sciences at Oxford University, has been elected chairman of the executive committee of the Biochemical Society.
