On the move

The University of London has appointed the following:

C. N. Mann , director of the Warburg Institute, dean of the School of Advanced Study from January 1, 2002; Timothy Shaw , professor at Dalhousie University, Canada, director of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies and professor of Commonwealth governance and development; Derek Keene , director of the Centre for Metropolitan History at the Institute of Historical Research, Leverhulme chair of comparative metropolitan history at the IHR; Patricia Thane , professor at the University of Sussex, Leverhulme chair of contemporary British history at the IHR; Michael Clancy , research fellow, has been awarded the title professor of medieval history at the IHR; Maxine Molyneux , senior lecturer, has been awarded the title of professor of sociology at the Institute of Latin American Studies.
