Rock and Roll Tourist, the memoirs of a musician who left his life behind at the age of 50 to follow his favourite bands around the globe, is the latest offering from Northumbria University Press. The book tracks Graham Forbes' counter-intuitive attempt to break free of his accidental addiction to synthetic heroin by travelling the world with his favourite acts, including thrash-metal band Anthrax and Scottish indie darlings Franz Ferdinand. He recounts talking his way on to free flights and hitching a ride in bands' tour buses from Reykjavik to Brussels and New York to Nashville.
