Robert Lucas may have made a lot of money from the theory of rational expectations, but his former wife has just got half of it. Possibly the most conceited clause ever included in a divorce settlement paid off last week for the former Mrs Lucas, who had "half of any Nobel prize" built into her settlement terms. Cunning lawyers in action - or a standard clause for all matrimonial collapses affecting staff of the University of Chicago?
