At least one vice chancellor has been reflecting that the grass is always greener on the other side as a result of the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals unprecedented and somewhat vertigo-inducing ascent to the top of news agendas following their levy threat: "I was only complaining the other week that nobody in the media seems to be interested in higher education. Now I'm not so sure I didn't prefer it that way," he said as The THES became about the 20th paper to ring him last week.
