Brussels, 04 Mar 2003

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is providing a dedicated service for research activities related to advanced genomics, biotechnology and major disease prevention.

The new service, part of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) portal, offers central access to all related information, including guidance, news, forthcoming events and direct links to ease the application process for research funding opportunities, for which 2,255 million euro is earmarked.

Users can quickly access working documents and dedicated calls, identify support and potential partners, browse past projects and consult publications. In addition, this service offers background information on and links to opportunities for international cooperation and small and medium sized enterprises within research projects in these fields.

The service provides timely information and will cover all upcoming activities, or newly funded projects as soon as information is available. This dedicated web interface also aims at supporting the promotion of new knowledge and applications that enhance human health. http://www.cordis.lu/lifescihealth/home. html
