New students should pursue part-time work

Ben Archibald, convenor of the National Union of Students-Union of Students in Ireland, has advised higher education entrants to start thinking about part-time work to keep financial problems from interfering with their studies.

Student leaders were alarmed by recent figures showing that about half of sixth-formers underestimated the cost of going to university.
