Philip Ingham has been appointed head of the Babraham Institute, succeeding Richard Dyer, who is retiring. Professor Ingham, who is in the department of developmental genetics at Sheffield University, takes up the post in September 2006.
Babraham, near Cambridge, receives its major funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
