The NEST-IDEA project, funded by the European Commission as a Specific Support Action (SSA) within the NEST (New and Emerging Science and Technology) activity, has launched a survey aimed at EU research institutes and universities.
The objective of the NEST-IDEA project is to support the dialogue on emerging scientific and technological development between the research community and the European Commission. One of its goals is to detect new and emerging fields of science and technology within the European Research Area (ERA).
The inquiry will, therefore, aim to identify the emerging research fields within the EU, as well as the needs and problems encountered, for example, during the initial stages of interdisciplinary collaboration. It is hoped that the information collected will help with the planning promotional actions in these emerging research fields.
The information collected will also go towards feeding the debate on the future of the NEST programme within the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
Interested parties are invited to complete the questionnaire by 11 February.
