David Blunkett's announcement of sweeping changes in higher education has raised major questions.
What letters, for example, will graduates of the new degrees be able to put after their names? Will those achieving the new foundation degree call themselves BF or indeed FD? And what about making a distinction between degrees secured here and overseas, via the e-university?
After the trouble French Connection UK encountered over use of its acronym in a recent advertising campaign, care will be needed in combining the two. The letters FDUK may create the wrong impression.
