The sense of fun at the National Union of Students conference in Blackpool this week was, at one point, imperilled when the National Executive Committee voted "to work as a united force for change within post-16 education and not as a group of squabbling children".
But despite the motion being passed, it did not stop plenty of toys being thrown out of the pram during the rest of the conference.
