More places confirmed

Latest figures from the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service show that out of 511,669 applicants for courses starting this year, 387,662 have had their places confirmed. This compares with 358,229 at the same point last year - a rise of 29,433. Applications from home students under the age of 21 have increased 8.3 per cent to 282,514.
