Molecular brain imaging in very early Alzheimer's disease

December 19, 2005

Brussels, 16 Dec 2005

The final workshop of a Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) concerted action on neuroreceptor imaging will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 2 and 3 February.

'Neuroreceptor imaging in mild cognitive impairment' (NCI-MCI) ends in February 2006. Its objective has been to pose an early diagnosis and a prognosis for the development of Alzheimer's disease. In-vivo mapping of brain receptors in unaffected individuals, in patients with mild cognitive impairment, and in Alzheimer's disease have been compared.

The aim of the workshop is to give an overview of the results obtained, and to get feedback from scientists from the field.
