A part-time tutor who teaches observational drawing at Middlesex University is one of 56 artists chosen for the BP Portrait Award 2009 Exhibition. Middlesex lecturer Susan Light's portrait, Fatema, depicting a homoeopathy student, was chosen from entries submitted by more than 1,900 artists. The exhibition, which will run at the National Portrait Gallery in London until 20 September, is considered to be one of the most prestigious portrait competitions in the world.
