For those of you who missed it - this week's big news is that Sir Menzies Campbell, ageing sprinter and Liberal Democrat MP for North East Fife, has won the leadership election.
After a tough battle against himself, Sir Menzies was elected chancellor of St Andrews University by the institution's General Council with immediate effect. Doubtless this will prove wildly consoling in the days to come.
