Brussels, 25 April 2002

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting a new service on innovation activities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.

The multimedia service, developed jointly by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern regional ministry of education, science and culture and CORDIS, provides an introduction to local activities and infrastructures and participation in European programmes.

Located in north-east Germany, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern hosts a wide range of education and research organisations, including the oldest universities in the Baltic Sea region (Rostock and Greifswald).

The service offers search facilities on organisations involved in European projects and spotlights and links for information on major innovation-related initiatives.

More than 20 European regions are already promoting their profiles via CORDIS.
