The word around Oxford is that on the night of last month's vote on changes to governance, David Eastwood, the chief executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England, dined at Keeble College.
Keeble's academics are considered to generally support vice-chancellor John Hood's controversial plans to hand financial control of the university to outsiders. One academic told Peep: "Eastwood should have been a million miles from Oxford. It was a silly thing to do."
